Port of Hastings expansion to take a decade

The state government is planning for the Port of Hastings to begin easing the load at the Port of Melbourne from the mid-2020s.

At that stage a road and rail transport corridor will be used to carry goods from Hastings to Dandenong.

The government’s Victoria – The Freight State report includes the Western Port Highway being upgraded to “full freeway standard”.
