Langhorne Place Interchange

The new bus interchange at Langhorne Place (just off Lonsdale Street) opened on Sunday. Craig over at the Bus Australia forum has posted some fantastic photos of the new interchange.

I think the interchange will play an important role in reacquainting public transport users with the main street of Dandenong and make Langhorne Plaza a much more convenient meeting point. I would have preferred if the interchange were located on the other side of Lonsdale Street (which I think is in greater need of stimulus), but the road layouts wouldn't have made that practical. In any case, council has firm plans to build its new offices on that side (diagonally opposite the Drum Theatre and Langhorne Plaza) and that may be stimulus enough.
