Regarding Dandenong

Stud Road Changes

Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region Gordon Rich-Phillips today announced a $947,000 Victorian Coalition Government investment to improve safety at two key intersections along Stud Road in Dandenong.

Mr Rich-Phillips said the $947,000 project would address a history of crashes at both the King Street and Herbert Street intersections.
“The installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Stud Road and Herbert Street will aim to reduce the incidence and severity of crashes at the location.”

Sounds very sensible.

Why do these projects cost so much, though? $1 million for a set of traffics lights at Herbert and some "No Right Turn" signs at King seems excessive.
